It’s Monday!  And of course, we will love someone!



In today’s edition of #MCM, we will be crushing on one ace Nigerian singer, rapper, actor, writer and lawyer.  He is no other than, Folarin Falana known under the stage name Falz the badt guy. He is talented, intelligent and classy. He is a badt guy that keeps his fashion game steady and on a fleek.


Folarin Falana, the son of Femi Falana, a Nigerian human activist and lawyer, is a Nigerian rapper, actor, and songwriter. He began his career while in secondary school after forming a group called “The School Boys” with his friend before his professional career as a music artiste began in 2009. 


Falz shot into limelight after his song titled “Marry Me” (featuring vocals from Poe and Yemi Alade) won him a nomination in the “Best Collaboration of The Year” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

He was also nominated in the “Best Rap Act of The Year” and “Best New Act to Watch” categories at the same event. He currently owns an independent record label called Bahd Guys Records.



The unique thing about Falz music is, it is the fusion of comic lyrics with the contemporary hip-hop in a faux Yoruba accent. 



He is the originator and creator of his own genre of music which he aptly titles ‘What’s up music’. In 2014, Falz was ranked #9 on notJustOk’s list of “The 10 Most Gifted Rappers in Nigeria 2014” stating that, “Falz’s ability to maintain a thought and get his point across in 16 barz while switching accents, infusing funny punchlines and delivering all of it in a way that makes the listener follow along is nothing short of impressive”.




As a talented and award winning actor, Falz won "Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series" at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards for his role as Segun in Funke Akindele’s TV series "Jenifa's Diary". 

In June of 2016, Falz was voted the winner of the "Viewer's Choice Best New International Act" category at the 2016 BET Awards. On October 27, 2016, Falz collaborated with Simi to release Chemistry, a 7-track EP solely produced by Sess.



The EP was released after he had previously worked with Simi on two singles titled "Jamb Question" and "Soldier".


It is no doubt that Falz is a multi-talented person who is definitely worth crushing on.

The Menace of Corporate begging in Lagos

 By Praise Olowe Just when I thought the issue of corporate begging had seized in Lagos, some of my recent encounters within the Lagos metropolis has got me re thinking. Corporate beggars seem to be back in town and this time around, they are back in re branded styles. Street begging is not new in Nigeria, and it majorly involves visibly disadvantaged people, who line major roads to beg for money. You would agree with me that, seeing a good looking man who is all dressed up in tuxedo, carrying a fancy brief case and wearing a pair of shoe so well polished that you can almost see your reflection in them on the street of Lagos is not at all a concern. However, it becomes one when this corporately dressed man, walks up to a lady not to make advances, but to seek assistance backing it up with a really pathetic story.
